Camaraderie
Given the nature of police work, you will get to know the officers you work with, very well. You will work with people for 8 hour shifts and have experiences together that create tight bonds between people. Some of the most interesting conversations you will have in your life can occur with a work partner in a car at 3am in the morning.
The most important thing for people early in their police careers is to also nurture their relationships outside of policing. This is so that new members continue to have the support of their long term friends and family as they embark on a new chapter in their lives that will at times be incredibly challenging.
