Tasmania Police has developed a number of basic programs to assist with improving your base level fitness in readiness for an assessment. These programs do not require any specialist equipment or facilities and can be completed at home.
Important Health Screening Information
If you suffer from any of the following conditions, you should seek medical advice prior to commencing an exercise program:
- Heart condition or high blood pressure
- Pain in the chest either at rest, during daily activities of living or when doing physical activity
- Loss of balance due to dizziness or if you have suffered a loss of consciousness during the last 12 months
- Diagnosis of a chronic medical condition
- Taking prescribed medications for a chronic medical condition
- A bone, joint or soft tissue injury that could be made worse by physical activity, either now or in the last 12 months.
- If a doctor has advised to only do supervised physical activity
Please obtain medical advice if currently pregnant, over the age of 45 and physically inactive, or if you are suffering from a temporary illness.
