In 2022, Tasmania Police ran a Northern Recruit Training Course for the first time ever.

This was a success and will be run again in 2023, with a Launceston-based recruit course confirmed to begin on 30 January.

The northern course enables people from the north and north-west of Tasmania to complete their 31-week police training in the north of the state, without moving to Hobart to train at the Rokeby Police Academy.
